Veerayatan

 Project Update (Mar '2004)

Dear Shri Vibhu Bhai,

Greetings.

We are happy to inform you that “Veerayatan - Water Purification Project” which was initiated by VIDE/SEEDS in February 2002 is nearly complete. The details of work completed and expenses incurred to date in the project are enclosed herewith. Though the project has been delayed due to delay in our construction work, we are happy to confirm that 90% of the total project has been completed and we are fortunate to have a sufficient quantity of potable water for our students, trainees and other earthquake affected people.

The direct beneficiaries of the clean water project will be the 300 boarders of our hostel, about 100 staff members and their families staying at our campus, the hundreds of school students and the people who visit the Primary and Secondary Schools, Vocational Training Centre, Hostel, Primary Health Center and other Public Facilities.

As of now, the quality of water in Kutch is not suitable as it contains high T.D.S., but this purification system reduces the impact of such impurities. Once the R.O. Plant is installed and commissioned, a high quality mineral water will be available for drinking and cooking purposes. Giving the local people access to purified water will not only reduce the number of water-related diseases in the area, but will also help to ensure that the children of Kutch will grow up healthy. All of this would not have been possible without the efforts taken by VIDE/SEEDS, your entire team, and especially you. The recipient people of Kutch will be ever grateful for your tremendous support. As your support is absolutely vital for us, we hope to have continuous partnership with you and your organization.

We are thankful to you for granting first installment of $ 35,000/- for the project. We request you to please release balance amount as soon as possible as the project is nearly completed, which can be observed from the progress of the project report sent herewith.

Pujya Acharya Shri Chandanaji Maharaj and Sadhvi Shri Shilapiji convey their blessings and warm regards to you and the members of your organization.

With Regards,
