Ranchhodray Satsang Mandal Blood Bank Center Construction

This project is to build a Blood Bank that shall serve the people and regions affected by earthquake. This will be one of its kind in this region of Kutch and shall touch lives of thousand of people of Kutch.The center is going to be constructed in Bhuj, Kutch (it's a major medical center in the area), Kutch and will cater to people in villages around Bhuj with a radius of around 60 miles. This project is expected to benefit over 1000 people on an annual basis. This project will benefit over 1000 people on an annual basis.

The project shall be executed by Ranchhodray Satsang Mandal Trust under the local leadership of Dr. Himat Morbia, a Hon. Sec. Of Red Cross Society and Saint John Ambulance Services, Bhuj. He and his team is well known in the region for their social activities.

All the construction carried out in this project shall be meeting Government Of Gujarat regulations for Earthquake. Efforts are being made to leverage experience of our partner and experts in Earthquake and Disaster Management, GHI/SEEDS. This project shall be utilizing 100 % local involvement in entire project cycle thereby generating local job opportunities. Technical expertise of Red Cross, Bhuj shall be used during the entire project cycle whenever required. The project is expected to turn self sustainable (an important VIDE goal) after around 3 years of its inception through local donations, memberships to Blood Bank and minimal fees charged to the patients.

Besides funding the construction and infrastructure required for Blood Bank, VIDE shall be supporting mandatory screening of donated blood for initial two years totaling to around 2000 bottles of blood. The total cost of this project comes to USD 65,500 of which USD 51,000 shall go into construction of Blood Bank building and other infrastructure equipments like Centrifuge, Freezers etc. required for Blood Bank. Rest of the money shall be utilized in mandatory screening of donated blood for initial two years of Blood Bank operation.
